Connie and Don Redden own and operate Richwood Farm. They met while working as Special Agents for the FBI in Covington, Kentucky. Connie's love for horses quickly spread to Don who purchased two thoroughbreds. While Don followed his horses at the track, Connie rode her Quarter Horse/Tennessee Walker for fun.

When they were transferred to Chicago, Illinois, they moved their horses with them. They settled their horses at Kelly Stables (now in Zion, Illinois). They began taking lessons with Szczepan Cieplicki and competing in combined training.

As Don was approaching 25 years with the FBI, he began thinking of retirement. While looking for property where they could keep their horses themselves, they found a small run down property in southwest Wisconsin. They purchased the farm in late 1994 and by the fall of 1995 had made the farm their permanent home, Don had retired and Connie had resigned and taken a job in Madison, Wisconsin.

They have never looked back. They were introduced to Trakehners in 1998 and began their small breeding operation shortly thereafter. Don earned his PhD in 2009 and now teaches online for the University of Phoenix and Thomas Edison College. He also works as an Analyst for a Medicare Benefit Integrity contractor. Connie works from home as a consultant for a major health insurer. The following link is to an article written about Don and Connie in 2010.
